Firstly, where is the fuel filter? I may as well give it a change as I'm not sure when it was last done.

Secondly, I fitted the ACT induction kit this eve. After 25 minutes of effort and eventually managing to get the large hose through the hole next to the radiator, I thought it looked rather short and it wouldn't reach the AFM. I then retuned to the box and realised I'd shoved the wrong hose through, didn't even notice the smaller hose!!! nuts Anyway, my second question... should the air filter sit behind the number plate as this is where mine in now positioned?

The air filter is bolted to the front slam panel and should be in the same position. confused Mine remained in the same place pretty much i.e behind the plate but tucked up under the slam panel.

There was a good how to here.

You can see the fuel filter behind the near side wheel bolted to the chassis iirc.

Needless to say its a bit of a pain!

My air filter ended up under the top lip of the grill aperture, nicely tucked away.

My 450 has the standard air intake, it has a bracket fixed to recieve air filter and air intake pipe so filter sits on the left well above no plate hidden under bonet. Maybe have to cut abut off the end.

Cheers for that. I've pushed mine through and it sits in the top half of the splitter, but behind the number plate, as opposed to one side. Should I push it back through more and trim some off the end, so it is more to one side? I was going to place a cable tie around the splitter (behind the number plate) to keep it in place.

There should be a captive nut on the steel connector between the old pipe and the air filter. This bolts through the slam panel under the bonnet. You shouldn't need cable ties to hold the air filter unless someone has butchered it prior to you getting the car.

The nut is at the top of the white part of the pipe between the new hose and filter.

Cheers Mark. I undid that nut when removing the original, but wasn't sure if the ACT system was designed differently. Looks like I have a bit more trimming to do then!

My short front pipe was OK and didn't need trimming but the long pipe needed trimming at both ends as when it first went in as it wouldn't sit flush against the wing and was touching the exhaust.

I put as little as possible of the supplied metal sleeve in the short pipe as possible so that there was plenty for the long pipe to slip over as that was the hardest clip to tighten.

The elbow pipe from AFM to plenum needed quite a bit taking off it as well.

Cheers for that. I'm waiting for my elbow to arrive, so won't trim anything until I have the whole lot!
