Rear screen replacement near Basingstoke

Its that time..... that small tear is now a problem that winter has come.

Can anyone recommend a good place in North Hants area which isnt to pricey?

I have been quoted £100 if supply my hood 'unstuck' from the bottom frame... bit concerned that I may glue it back up wrong though.

Does your insurance cover replacements? Mine does and I got a whole new rear screen fitted for £60xs - bit if a bargain.

Trimmania in Reading do the hood repairs for HH.

Lol...... I will try the Reading lot and see what they say..... insurance is risky as its an obviousl;y older tear and i got new insurance 6 days ago.. dohhhh

Maybe i should do it myself by hand with a screen made from old milk bottle tops.....

No more risky than having a stone fly up and smash the front screen 6 days after opening a policy?

TVR independents of note in the area include David Batty (we've used him - perfectly happy). I'm afraid Hawthorns aren't TVR any more - the nearest main dealer to Basingstoke is Racing Green.

Just had the Chimaera serviced with them and the wife is very happy with 'em. Not only did they do the service work competently they actually fixed things that were broken we hadn't even remebered to tell them about and they valeted the car so it was totally spotless.

Not cheap, mind. But good service rarely is.

Back to your rear window problem, though...a mate of mine had the plastic rear screen of his MGF replaced for about £100 by an independent specialist recently...I'll ask him where it was he got it done and post it up. Might be worth a try...
