I've purchased some studs to fit the trumpet base onto the manifold. The trumpets were fixed before the original bolts replaced (doh!), Anyway, I purchased these M8 studs from Fleabay and the thread is to tight, so they won't screw into the manifold. Anybody know what thread size the original metal TVR bolt is?

Feel like one step forward two steps back at the moment.... banghead

5/16" UNC perhaps?

Its an old design and American in origin so unlikely to have metric threads, unless the later Rover alterations went metric?

Still struggling. Don't have an I phone. Would it be okay to use a solid thread throughout? I was thinking of something like this. They need to be 68mm(ish) in overall length.

Just a heads up for anyone in the same situation. I eventually found these studs:

5/16" UNF / UNC STUDS 2 1/2" LONG
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/110873032237?ssPageName=...

Put them in today and they seem to fit fine. They needed a little encouragement to tighten them up, but not much. Eventually got the heat gasket and trumpet base on. I used spring washers and plenty of Loctite on the nuts, so they shouldn't budge. I was paranoid about dropping anything into the trumpets after seeing the injector washer thread!!!

Cheers for your help!
