Got her going today, sounds great. Fueled her up... Wouldn't crank. Similar effect to flat battery. Unplugged ECU and squeezed a few relays, then set and unset the alarm. Cranked but slowley to begin with and the fired? Does this sound like a drain or short? Any ideas?
Anyway, just in case, took for a good run to get some life into the battery. Was going great. All of a sudden white smoke from under the bonnet. Turned her off and it looks like PAS fluid coming from one of the hoses but over the water pump. It's grey fluid, so it isn't oil and it isn't coolant :-/

A small setback, but a pain none the less. Just waiting for a low loader. Deffo PAS fluid. Reservoir level right down.
Pretty sure its not oil and water, otherwise I would have seen some tell tail signs when driving. Oil pressure smack on 60psi all the time and temp remained pretty much constant.

Looks like the high pressure pas hose has moved and caught on a pulley and then burnt through... should have used a couple more cable ties.
It will have to wait until next month now
as I'm still chasing payments from six months ago. So close, yet so far!!!
If anybody has an old rubber one they're no longer using it wold be gratefully received

Same here I too use Comma, red...I have never seen grey fluid, apart from when red it is full of air, I am not saying it is not out there, I have only ever seen red in TVR's, or in reality red/black with sparkling metallics IF there is an issue!!...I do see an off white/yellow fluid in my wife's Fiat...good luck with the fix.
