Did anyone else have a fab drive this morning?

Got up this morning... clear blue sky in Surrey ... decided not to go to the gym.. bounced down to the garage... fired her up, hood down... awesome drive in to work (dropped off dvd on the way - Shaun of the Dead (recommended)).

Really , really, really has made my day.

Hope others had a similar morning too!

I had a similar day yesterday, lovely fresh sunny morning, didn't take the car as I was going into college and would sit there worrying about it but instead fired up the old ZXR750 and had a lovely rip into town.

Rained about 3pm but lovely and sunny again at 6pm when I went to leave.

It's the little things in life!

Weather was lovely, idiot in front of me couldn't make up their mind whether they wanted to travel at 40 or 60, had no idea what the indicators did, and kept jamming on the brakes for no reason..

Arrive at island, numpty chooses left hand lane, slinky chooses right hand land indicating right, Numpty follows slinky ALL the way around the island and turns right...

But now numpty is behind slinky.. Will she crash into me? fortunately not..

Only 2 and a quarter hours to go 25 miles.

yey! same thread...different day... again, bounced out of bed...stuff the gym... hood down... soooooopa drive.

As a side point, one thing that works really, really well in the Chimaera is those heaters. Very toasty and warm in the pilot's seat.

The weather is lovely up up here today. I'm hoping the insurance will be sorted today cos it would be a lovely evening for some chim-type fun

Yup: lovely topless weather here in swansea too. Tomorrow should be good also and probably Saturday (except possibly the south coast).

PS: Met Office's avaition web site is excellent, I use it mostly to plan whether (no pun intended) I'm going to use the Chim or not. Rarely far wrong in the short term (say up to 48-60h ahead). The basic features can be used free, the rest is subscription, but i think its brilliant value, if you want to know what's coming weather-wise. Highly recommended

My dog and I spent a lurvely day in the chimp yessterday with the roof down.

He just lurves it on the back shelf in his basket, with his head on my shoulder watching all the traffic break left as we approach at speed with xenons on..

Jem.... I would recommend gluing the dog to the shelf with Sikoflex. Some people try carpet tape, but that is a short term solution.

I also swear by silkaflex, but he's currently restrained by a 5-ton piece of 5mm sailing rope.

The great thing about the dog is he nods on command.

...that reminds me that I used to have close friends who used to do that when i was younger...

Hey, he's a good secondary immobiliser too.

I have replaced my seatbelts with oil tanker ancor chain. Takes a while to weld and unweld myself each time tho....

Finally - the working week has come to an end and the good weather held out for today

After a quick hose down, the Chim was out on some fantastic country roads. Targa panel out and toasty warm inside with the heaters on.

Hoping tomorrow will be just as good - driving to Lewes to deafen the local population with a few passes through the Culfail Tunnel!!
