I have just whipped out the diver & passenger footwell carpets to give them a good clean. No sign of undelay or backing. Is this normal or has it gone walkies?
If so is it foam, rubber or felt?

Pete,

Its 100% normal...... just fitted the new set and had underlay throughout (foam) except on the floors.

I have seen some with, and some without. The same in the S2, the original carpets had a foam backing, the replacements didnt...

None on my Chims had underlay. (A few did have the odd puddle though)

Mine has original carpets. The front floor bits have thick foam rubber backing glued on, for sound deadening I would guess. Don't think it's on the bits under the seat/rearward bit, can't remember but doubt it.

Cheers. Just found two bits of rubber stuffed in behind the spare. Looks like they are about the same size (ish) as the footwell carpet.

Matt, Finally finished the carpet eh? Any pictures?

I think it has to be flown in from Mexico.

(Somebody please tell me I did not try to get the Speedy Gonzalez joke in).
