I've checked the bible and can't find anything that answers this question, however there is a section on removing the mirror glass and its frame, which involves tilting the mirror up so the gap between it and the mirror body is largest at the bottom. Using a torch have a buthers into the gap and you should see a black plastic tab half way along (I'm guessing thats the middle), push the tab to the left, (about 5mm) and the glass should come out. I don't know but I'm guessing that's how you get access to the door button.....

Er, don't blame me if you drop the glass and it breaks, or you can't get it back together again wink

One other thing, it might be worth checking that the door lock itself hasn't come loose.... (held by three screws)

Yes little tab removes the glass then if you whant more you can whip the back off with 3 screws
Put some copper slip on the slide on the mirror when you put it back they get very stiff

Presumably you can open the door from inside the car. I had a solenoid fail, and IIRC that is far more common than a button failure. The solenoid is housed just behind the door catch in the door frame, and again, IIRC, you access it from inside the car.
