Hi folks,

well, after more than a month away, Winnie is back home, where she belongs. Before I tell you what I've had done, I'd like to thank a few people, in no particular order:

Peter (phazed) - Thanks for the advice over the phone and answering my questions.
Derek (db484bhpv8) - Thnaks for your good ear and diagnosing my cam as well as a good chat.
Ray at V8 Developments
Tim at ACT
Colin at TVRS
Julian for the Manifolds, as well as Clive for making them in the first place

and anybody else that has given me advice in any of the many, many threads I started thumbup

Right then, to the car, she has had a few things done and I am well pleased. She pulls like a train and feels so much stronger and quicker. At the moment the main points of the spec are as follows:

V8D Ported inlet manifold
V8D Ported and enlarged trumpet base with shortened trumpets
Real Steel Typhoon Cam with adjustable pushrods and Cloyes duplex Timing Gear
Clive Ford modified manifold
Smooth bore elbow
ACT Swan neck

I still have an ACT smooth bore induction it to go on and that's it....... for now. I really want to enjoy the car for the summer so for now, I really do think that's it.

I do fancy some mapping and enlarged plenum and AFM, maybe in the winter though evil

Here is a short video and a picture: thumbup

Chimaera Video Here

Excuse the lack of Plenum and Rocker badges smile

Nick

It's even better in the flesh smile Ohh, he noise is amazing when you are near it. Pops and bangs up through the gears and has a raspy type noise at the top end of the revs. Coming back down is just cloud9

I just wish there was a way to fit an amplifier to it biggrin

I always thought that when I saw threads with your car in. My build sheet says 'Diamond Black' but offers no more information, maybe you can help, what colour is yours?

The exhaust is standard, only change is the fancy modified manifolds.

Hi Nick, it's Highland Pearl, in bright sunshine it's flecked with silver, pink, green, blue, and probably other colours too.. On a cloudy day it just looks grey.. Oddly, I met up with a lady friend yesterday who hadn't seen the car for some time and she thought I'd had it resprayed a different colour, she said it looked 'more black' scratchchin

Hi Chilli,

thanks for that, unfortunately that doesn't sound like my colour. Mine is Black but in the sun I get some glinting from metal flakes in the paint. I've been told it's a Merc or BMW colour.

I think its Obsidian Black Metallic then. My old 5 series was this colour and it was lovely.
