That seems to be a great example of how NOT to write an eBay advert.

What would you actually bid on? What size engine does it have, what year is it? If the exhaust and interior were stripped why is there smoke coming out of the back, did someone refit the exhaust as that's not what the advert says.

I also loathe adverts that state "definitely" in them when it's patently not true, that's not the best example out there, there are several better examples owned by people on this forum.

Also - how hard is it to run a spell checker over something nowadays?

I really can't imagine that a car that truly is in "as new" condition is worth so much more as parts than as a complete car - sure, *BITS* of it are worth a fair chunk (engines seem to pull a premium) but the main "bulk" of the car is going to prove a bugger to shift unless you fall lucky and just happen to have someone who wants exactly the bits that you have at the time that you have them and knows that you have them as well.

The thing that get's my back up is that if it really is that good then it's such a bloody shame for it to be broken for spares... frown

The car has never been registered so isnt on any reg. Its a 4.0 and everything is there and working apart from some interior (or is was last week). Owner is open to offers to buy it as it is. Dont know the year of manifacture as I didnt ask. Would be a shame to break it up.

Well, it's got the old style door release, so we'll assume its a mk1, about 1993-1996??

I think the above is the main problem. It has never been registered, so can it now still be?
and if so what plate? Year of manufacture or now classed as a kit car and on a "Q" plate?

I asked the seller a few important and searching questions about registering the vehicle, and if he had attempted to register it himself, and been refused.

Surprise, surprise, i received no answer.

Maybe thats the reason he is breaking it up for parts.

I was wondering if you would have to pay vat on it when (if) it was registered. Was half tempted to get it as I didnt want to see it get broken up but am having nightmares with dvla trying to register a vixen so didnt fancy adding to my hassles.
