I bought a Mod-Wise one, where you dab a magnet on the rear panel at EXACTLY the right spot and the boot pops open. I had a rear end shunt so the nice man at PR Wood fitted it at the same time as the repair.
Couple of problems - it was designed for the early Chim to go behind the number plate, and in mine its behind a thick bit of glassfibre, and second, it comes with a puny magnet which needs absolute precision (with no external guide or clue as to the spot) to work.
Solution - use a Scalextric magnet (small and very strong), and memorise the position carefully, and it works most of the time. The magnet slips into the keyfob, so its quite neat, and better than switching the ignition on each time.
