Hi all

Just into my second week of ownership and have my first gremlin lol.
I can hear the door unlock when I use the fob but when I push the button underneath the mirror nothing happens,it makes a click but the door does not open.
I can open the door from the knob on centre console.

Many thanks in advance,

Nobby

The button under the mirror opens the door by the actuator, electrically.
The centre knob/golf ball opens the door via cables, mechanically.

So, wiring aside, it could be the actuator.

Does your door pin switch work? (interior light- I seem to recall someone mentioning the circuit is involved, but not sure how).

Sounds like the solenoid.
There's a panel that opens up under the seatbelt tower. Two wires to connect and it's replaced :-)

Could also be the switch in the sill that looks like it is for the interior light. This also tells the locking module when the door is open or closed and can cause symptoms like this if it is not contacting properly. Just remove itand clean up the contacts. It's worth doing both sides as it only takes a few minutes.

Mine does this occasionally on both sides so I just give the mechanism a spray of WD

I have 2 spare solonoids to replace the originals if they finally pack up

Will give that ago with the WD and think I will order a couple of solenoids to be on the safe side,it would appear this is a common fault.

Thanks all
