Hi all, front suspension banging and clacking over mild bumps at any speed, it was doing it before I poly bushed wishbones and anti-roll bars and it improved considerably after work done, but now I've put a few hundred miles on it, the noise is returning.
I haven't replaced shocks yet (waiting for funds to improve), but the car has only got 22k on the clock and on inspection they seem fine.
I haven't replace droplinks or there bushes as they looked in reasonably good condition and to be honest I forgot to buy some new poly's, so I thought it could wait till I got some new shock's next year.
Is it likely the droplinks are the cause of the racket?

The standard drop links shouldn't make a noise unless the rubbers are completely fooked.

I would get under there and check all bolts for tightness first.

There shouldn't be any noise unless something is loose or there is a lot of play in something.

Top & bottom swivels?

Loose caliper?

Have you checked the top shock absorber bush...it's very close to the exhaust and may have softened?

Do yourself a massive favour and invest in the Leven drop links and poly bushes for the roll bars. Best handling mod you will ever make.
The combination of steering response, flat ride and extra tire adhesion will make you forget about any noises you may have. As a bonus it may even stop them!!

Thanks guys, have now checked all of the above and after exhaustive test runs while using my wife as ballast laugh (hope she doesn't read this), it looks like it is the droplinks.
Just ordered a full new set from RG's upgraded range as per other droplink thread, Leven ones would have been nice but its just for road use and I do like to fit and forget and I know my wife would not let me forget the price.irked
