After 6 years of smiles I'm looking to pass my 2000 V Chimp to another lucky buyer. But it seems he doesn't want to go.
Took a keen prospective buyer for a run, left it running on the drive to prove fans cut in and out ok as the nice chap was worried about overheating. In cut the fans, ran for 30 seconds and cut back out as normal.

Then suddenly the car dies and will not restart!!!

No surprise it puts the guy off which is incredible as the car has been so loyal and reliable. Anyway I assumed it was maybe a dead coil and I carry a spare, so off he goes and I fit the new coil in 15 mins and still no firing.

Then I notice the main HT lead had popped off the distributor. Can you believe it, I've watched Herbie films but is the Chimp telling me it doesn't want to go.

Anyway one unlucky prospective purchaser down, I'm sure there will be more.

Similar thing happened to me. My girlfriends car is a proper fair weather vehicle and is always tucked up of a night and doesn't go out in the rain. Anyway, for reasons that won't interest anyone, it had to be parked at my place for a few days, in a garage with no door, so slightly left to the elements.

What happens to her pride and joy? Starts to run really lumpy and rough, gearbox rubber goes and the previously leak free engine develops an oil leak and makes a mess of my garage floor!

They're alive I tell you, ALIIIIIVE!!!!
