Just pulled my K&N filter and strangely it's changed shape!

It looks like its sucking itself in.

Which is strange as I use 2 filters end to end so it's only sucking approx half the air through it.

I have done 3 TDs since I've cleaned them, approx 1000 miles so its not blocked, weird?

Doing TDs, the engine is running at full chat 90% of the time and sucks in a lot of air, surely it's not starting to collapse?

Has anyone experienced this?

If you don`t like my idea you could buy a silicone reducer maybe from 3" to maybe 6" then look on the K&N website for the largest air filter you can find.

http://www.knfilters.co.uk/search/univround.aspx
flange outside dia length
code RU-3040 6 in (152 mm) 7.5 in (191 mm) 12 in (305 mm)

That would do the trick.cool

I would go for the largest flange giving you a larger surface area ,you may have to go for a 5" flange ,can`t see any reducers that size.

You can get them with an angled flange which will take it up on a slight angle then make a bracket to secure.

Have a look on the website

A 750bhp filter & complete 102mm induction is possible, just turn up a collar to fit on the plenum and smooth the air in wink

Cut a hole at the end of the K&N, insert a large ally tube and clamp on a Pipercross, double air filter.

After the unstall i decided to cut 4" off the induction kit and 2" of each branch to bring it to the right and lower the air filters.

Don't know why your all fannying on with two filters, mines pushing way more horses using one k&n filter that flows to 600 bhp. The k&n fits in the stock position, why make hard for yourself ?

Ill have to look it up, it's one of the cone shaped jobbies , outlet is the same as the standard so fits on the pipe, I also used the act pipe from the filter that's solid.
