Hello all!

Spent some time this afternoon trying to get to the bottom of my failed passenger window conundrum, and have a question for fellow owners as the wiring has been modified prior to my ownership by an alarm installer (has auto wind-up function when alarm is locked).

The question is, do your windows work without any key in the car?

The issue I have is a 1500Kohm resistance on one of the lines from the switch to the motor, giving me around 7v at the motor which won't even move it. It's the same reading from the connector inside the footwell, so not the common issue of worn cabling in the door.
I'm pretty much resigned to the fact I'll need to remove the top dash to look at how the auto-wind solution has been fitted from the alarm. Driver's side works fine.
Was all working until recently - although the window had occasionally (3 times in a year) been intermittent.

Yes, my windows work all the time (keys out)

There are connectors in the foot well where the loom goes through into the door that play up (or did) on mine, cleaned up and have been fine, but the wire size reduces at that point which may also be a weak link.

OK, thanks - that's good to know.
I've already checked the voltage (and resistance) at that point - before the cable hits the door - and it's no good, so must be somewhere in the wiring.

Where does the wiring from the window switch usually run?
