Newbie Comes Out Of The Closet

I've been lurking for a while, just over a year in fact, but didn't feel qualified to post until now.
Three days ago I finally picked up my car, a '95 Chimaera 4.0 and have been living in it ever since. Burble, burble, burble with the occasional RAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! before going back to burble, burble, burble again.
It needs a few jobs. First up, new carpet. I've emailed coverdale carpets from the other thread so hope to have that job under way really soon (it's to be my only car, no garage queen this). If anyone who has done the job would like to offer any tips I'm listening.
I also need to treat the roof. The rear section was replaced about a year ago but the top section wasn't so there's a colour difference (plus some algae on the latter). If I scrub the algae off and treat both sections I hope to get them looking the same but what would you recommend? Renovo? Thomsons? Fabsil?
There has been a leak just adjacent to the door release buttons. Before I fit the new carpet can anyone tell me if these buttons let water in or was it perhaps the old rear section leaking?
T'other immediate job is bushes but I'm off to read the thread on that right now.
PS Visited my local TVR dealer to enquire about prices of parts today. The guy behind the counter couldn't tell me immediately and nor could he spell 'Chimaera'. Should I be worried?

Hi Flintstone. Use Renovo to unify the colour of the roof sections but, before doing that, you'll need to use a fungicidal spray to get rid of the mould that's adhered to the those parts..
I have to park under a tree at home and noticed a couple of years ago that there was what you call algae appearing around the stitched parts of the hood. I sprayed those areas (lightly) with Cuprinol's 'No More Mould' then applied Fabsil and I've had no problems since. I re-apply Fabsil twice a year and there's no sign of that green mould, plus the roof never leaks.

I stopped all leaks by laminating my entire car and posting it to the Sudan in a jiffy bag.
Oh yup have now finished the carpet.... remind them to supply the inner door panel sections and enough to cover the inside of the cubby holes behind the seats.
You need to take the roof and seat, seat belts out first... which may be a good time to tackle the roof and seal it inside and out etc (removing teh roof is not easy tho due to 1 unreachable 10mm bolt... i still have the scares to prove it!!!)

pure class! BTW - havent been in contact yet mate as still not looked at the underside of the car! planning on blagging a pit this weekend so likely to give you a bell if you can still help!
