First run with the standard decatted Y-piece... THOR!
First thing I noticed was a smoother drive and less shunting, followed by more growl and pops when I change gear...and then the sound of thunder on the gas pedal, followed by the overrun from heaven. I think I jump started two old dears in their Nissan Note as I accelerated past
It does sound a little more agricultural at low revs as its sleeved as well. Give it gas and its awesome. Purrs nicely at 70mph in fifth, not too loud. I think I'll have to save up for a shiny Y-piece soon, but for now quite please with the increased drivability and growl. I need to find a good tunnel this afternoon.

Glad you are back on the road and you like the way it sounds. Is it much louder or just a deeper note?. I would like to have a decat "Y" but I feel it may be over loud with pre cats out and fully sleeved, good for a tunnel run but bad for a long run. We will have to meet up as previously suggested and have a blast

Ripped out my pre cats myself yesterday. Much free-er revving and more power with less shunting. Sounds awesome with the act De cat y piece. Doesn't howl as much at high revs like my old chim with sleeved exhaust and no pre cats did but also doesn't sound like a tug boat when ticking over.
Win win scenario. Did I mention more power...?

It was difficult for me to tell too pinpoint the difference when I removed the pre-cats as I did a lot of other things at the same time. It did sound a little more aggressive and had a few more pops, but the pre-cat removal didn't do anything for shunting. Now with the main cat gone its overdrive on tap, sounds very raw when pushed and shunts less. Quite pleased with it. I must thanks Peter (Phazed) really for sending me the Y-piece in the first place. Cost me £60 to have welded.Win win scenario. Did I mention more power...?

That must sound deafening with no cats and sleeved pipe! I'd like to hear that at 6000 revs though I doubt your neighbours would agree. Oh well...!
Chris, I remember driving your car at Fernhurst. My sons face was a picture when it started up. It must sound awesome now. Post a vid
