Was it difficult? I have put in a new temp sender where the LR sender was so want to use it to give more accurate temp readings and tune it to the gauge.

I just wondered if there was any additional wires I had to fit or is everything already under the dash?

That's a bit overly complicated for what it does... All that's needed is a variable resistor.. I wonder what the rest of that circuitry is supposed to be doing.

OK I just read the description of what it does on the website and it does indeed sound like a good bit of kit if you needed all that functionality... Which I don't think you do..

All that's normally needed is a single variable resistor, that TW2 has all sorts of extras built in for reverse polarity and mis-matched senders/guages.. Would be pretty cool if building a kit car though

.. for each temperature point that you wish to be accurate...

The above answer may give you some ideas?

How accurately it can map resistance / temp curves is the big question, bearing in mind it is probably designed to allow use of gauges with completely different 'incompatible' sensors?

When I guess most of you are trying to make the needle pinpoint accurate in relation to some mythical point at which you measure coolant temp (with a possibly inaccurate device?). The coolant is heating/cooling all round the system - it is quite possible there is no one temp exactly the same anywhere in the system (except of course at the crossover points going C-Hot and H-Cold). I kind of wonder what all the fuss regarding accuracy is about confused

I did originally set out to do this mod, but it has been tested to be really inaccurate at any point other than the point you set it at. In fact the variable resistor under reads past the 'ideal' setting. I wanted to get a better idea of coolant temp by using the LR sender, which is positioned next to the ECU sender. This will help me more accurately match the values of the ECU sender. I don't think any gauge will ever be 100%, but its good to have a ballpark figure. However, the buzzer system is quite good and I may add that at a later date.

So anybody fitted them? I'll e-mail the company, see if they have any advice.

Yep certainly does - and makes good sense - thanks smile

I know MY particular focus is only really whether the fan comes on "when I expect it to" so I don't require the additional functionality, but that's not to say it's not worthwhile (and i didn't mean to imply that). I guess I just need my guage to be "accurate" at around 90 degrees, the rest of the time I largely ignore it any way.

Chris - I would be interested to hear how you get on with it and whether you believe it's a worthwhile addition. Post up when you do get it fitted..and sorry for the slight thread hijack..
