Hi,
I'm hope that someone has the answer to this problem as I've come to a dead end in my efforts to solve this problem. Basically I've repainted my Chimaera and whilst it has been sitting the battery has gone flat. Having charged it up and tried to start it nothing happens, the fuel pump doesn't prime itself and the engine doesn't turn over, Although the central locking works fine and the led on the dashboard goes out when you un-lock the car as normal. It appears the immobiliser is stuck on for some reason???
I've also tried the immobiliser by-pass key, in-order to get it started, but this also does nothing, checked all the fuses by the battery, all fine. Can anyone tell me the fix for this or a way to by-pass the immobiliser so I can at least get the car running again.

Many Thanks in advance.

Disconnect the earth lead on the battery for 30 seconds and reconnect - should reset itself.

As this is your 1st post you'll need to verify your identity before you get that sort of information.

Is this necessarily an immobiliser problem?

Did you disconnect anything else while it was being disassembled to be painted - earthing points for example?

Have you checked the 100amp fuse - physically taken it out and checked it.

Have also now tried swapping the ecu and fuel pump relays over. No change. I need to get this thing running as I've got to get it out of the workshop tomorrow. Everything points to an immobiliser fault.

Dash top off.

Locate Meta immobiliser box.

Disconnect the immobiliser plug.

Reconnect the immobiliser plug.

Cycle ignition key, listen for fuel pump.

Start car.

Vauxhall ignition key barrel, perhaps?? Try working it on off a few times with immobilizer on off as well. Good luck.

Swapping the relays over only moves the fault, it won't actually fix it.
Get someone to turn on the ignition while you hold the relays. they should make a positive thump in your hand.
If they don't you should replace one. And by trial and error swap them out until you get both clicking.

I've just seen and fixed exactly this problem on a Griff at the roadside.

You will need exactly the same relay because they are't the same as ordinary relays. Look for the Bosch code.
