Loose Distributor Cap

I had some issues at Le Mans, had to get towed back. The car kept cutting out and is now running rough, struggling to idle.

I replaced the ignition module, with no luck and tested the coil and it is fine.

I have discovered that my distributor cap is loose, so this must be it. I took it off and it looks fine as does the rotor arm. With the clips in place the cap is loose. I can't work out how this can suddenly happen, nothing has snapped. The only comment I have is that there is no seal between the cap and distributor body.

Has this happened to anyone before? I have ordered a new rotor arm and cap so hopefully this will fix it.

I can move mine about but not up and down

Bend the clips over more that will tighten the cap down more....easy fix
