Howdo.

I recently noticed that my front os drop link had snapped from the joint.
I believe they are the steve heath ones from what my local TVR indy told me.
he did also say they are censored.
So what do people recommend? From a quick google, I see racing green sell them.
Have also heard leven do them.

Any help is appreciated as want to get MOT this week in time for the sunny weather on Friday...

Thanks.

+1 for Leven. Just bought a set for the second time (first set didn't break. They were on my first chim!)
Expensive but transform the car. Combine with poly bushes for best effect.

Consider Racing Green's version, i've just ordered a set for the rear. Uses a track rod end type of ball joint instead of a rose joint. Much more suited to a road car imho.

Another vote for Leven - car handled really well on track yesterday, despite some seriously hard high-speed cornering on 888s

Hi all.

Great thanks for that. Seems leven are the ones to go for.
To be honest, the drop link could have been broken for some time. I would never have known until I cleaned underneath!

Thanks again.

Hi chaps.

Just spoken to my local tvr indy and he suggested to stick with just standard drop links.
When I mentioned the leven one's he said are they rose jointed to which i said yes.. he didnt seem keen?

Also what else do I need to go with the drop links?
Thanks again,

RH

I personally have no idea haha. Its just my local tvr indy.
He seemed to sigh when I said 'yes they are' rose jointed.
Why is this a bad thing?
I know the steve heath ones were and obv theyre not great.

What bushes to people use? Powerflex etc?

Well I've had the Leven ones for two years now & they've been perfect.

Please don't confuse them with the SH toy shop ones, the Leven links are heavy weight super solid all stainless affairs & are in a class of their own.

From the moment I fitted them the improvement was undeniable.

OK so my originals were knackered, but given their rubbish Triumph TR6 type design I'd say all original TVR drop links will be shot after 5,000 miles.

If your indy doesn't like the idea of Leven links, it's almost certainly because he's had a bad experience with the SH ones and is putting all rose jointed links in the same basket.

That's a shame, and he really he needs to see & test the Leven ones, they're a totally different thing in terms of quality & longevity.

It's like saying poly bushes are all rubbish, it's too much of a sweeping statement.

Personally I think the the original metastatic suspension bushes are perfect and I'd fit nothing else, but good quality poly bushes on the ARBs & diff are a no-brainer improvement.

In the right place poly bushes are excellent, but on the wishbones they are completely unnecessary & may even be harsh & more short lived.

Just my opinion you understand, no doubt the debate on these things will rage on for time in memorial.

If you can wait until Monday I'll give you an honest opinion of the Leven ones because I'll be picking a pair up at the Growl on Saturday.

I am currently running a pair of Steve Heath droplinks but plan to retire them after an MOT advisory on wear of one last year and a break of one 3 years ago.

My guess is they have done less than 5k since being fitted so I hope the Leven ones are a bit more fit-and-forget.
They should be for £100 a pair

12,000 miles on my Leven links.

Serviced the car again two months ago.

Removed the Leven links, to check.

No wear or issues, seem perfect.

Probably should have greased them.

Lost/loaned my needle point grease gun, cant quite remember, so just put them back on.

Car handles brilliantly as always.

Check em again next year but I can't see they'll need replacing for years to come.

I'd put the Leven links in the.....PROPER!.... category yes

Expensive.... yes

Well worth the money... definitely yes

I've just fitted the RG ones (this week) front and rear on my Griffith. This was to replace SH drop links that were making clunking noises. Seem well made and the ball joints are sealed so should last. It's stopped my car clunking so I'm happy. Will have to wait to see how robust they are but I'm not expecting any problems.
