To this ...

Now taking all bets on how many bolts, nuts and washers will be left over at the end !!

Huge thanks to the guys at Str8six who did the work. Can't decide on whether to slap a couple of coats of POR 15 on top or not. Possibly overkill or good idea ?

Looks great, nice job.

Off topic slightly, cost aside, could you make a Chim chassis out of Carbon Fibre?

Not really. There were only 2 holes. One can be seen in the first pic, rear outside of the n/s outrigger and another much smaller one by the front o/s.

Rest of the outriggers were kind of ok but decided to have them totally replaced and the entire chassis and wishbones re protected. Thought I may as well do it all and get it done properly. Car will probably outlast me now.

Also had polybushes done all round. All in all very pleased !

Nice .......Can I suggest you liberally use copperslip on all the suspension bolts and specially on the shocks bolts. Just had nasty jobs on all corners as this wasn't done on mine.

Would it not make it harder to see and breaks in the paint?

Maybe Chris, but if it's done properly then a 5 yearly body off should catch anything going wrong, and if your doing it yourself then maybe a lift every three years? Let's face it, if the car's been well looked after, which mine was (3 owners, 31K miles in 12 years, and always garaged), then a 5 year body off should catch most things if the the job is done right smile Oh, and it gives you something interesting to do during the long winter evenings wink

Thought of having it Galvanised first? No more body-off from that point. I'd seriously consider this.
