Hi all
I just wanted to introduce myself.
Just got myself another chim 500 after a 9 year wait from my last one. What a long wait.
It's a 2001 mark 3 in GTS blue and in really good condition.
The ride is very hard compared to my last one, it has the latest seats and 17" wheels using 235 40 & 205 40 Toyo types. Does anyone know what the ideal tyre pressure should be for a softer set up?
I no doubt there will be plenty more questions to come re increased power, etc.
No lurking comments please, I Know.

Congrats... you need to post some images. I recall pressures around 24/ 26 psi being mentioned.I just wanted to introduce myself.

Thanks for all your replies, I'm near Tunbridge Wells.
Chris I'll do those tyre pressures and see what it's like.
Harry PMSL, hope not now that I have a new toy to play with.
Andy it was in Autotrader.
It has also got a Tornado chip in it. It sounds like a 63 AMG on full song between 80-99 (on the track). Amazing sound.
I will be looking to change all the intake at some point and use Clive’s Y piece. Now that should add a few horses.

Sounds ace!
Is it one of the spanky run-out models with the plaque & signiture under the boot carpet?
Or were they after 2001?
Tell me more about these run out models please! I have an '02 450, allegedly one of the last 20 made and didn't know about plaques or signatures. I can't look at the moment either as its parked up 20 miles away in my garage and I'm not over there till tomorrow! Is it one of the spanky run-out models with the plaque & signiture under the boot carpet?

Are there any other differences apart from the fact it's a facelift?

Hmmm, it was actually maybe on ly the Griffith's they did a run out for...Are there any other differences apart from the fact it's a facelift?
In 2000, TVR announced that the Griffith production was going to end. A limited edition run of 100 Special Edition (SE) cars were to be built to mark the end of production. Although still very similar to the previous 500's, the SEs have a hybrid interior using the Chimaera dashboard and Cerbera seats. Noticeably, the rear lights are different along with different door mirrors, higher powered headlights and clear indicator lenses. Some also came with 16 inch wheels and each car comes with a numbered plaque in the glove box including the build number and a Special Edition Badge on its boot. All cars also have a unique signature in the boot under the carpet. The SEs were built between 2000 and 2002, with the last Griffith registered in 2003.

SonicAttack, your car is super rare, I think. I was nosing round a customers mk 3 500 (faired lights, tuscan seats etc)when I was at Fernhurst recently and apparently (according to them) there were only around 5 of them (most are 450s)built. So you have found something special there! Nice work.
