Hand brake lever

I have just pulled the hand brake on and the button and a couple of other bits came flying out of the end of the handle. Managed to release the hand brake but now will not lock off when pulled up. Spent an hour looking for the bits and all I could find was the black button. Cannot find anything else. What does the handle come from and what was inside that has made a bid for freedom?

A spring and some washers I think. Good time to get an alloy one of the Classifieds!

Arse! I threw away my original handle and button last week...

Anyone know what's it off? I'd guess Ford or Vauxhall, so ts a quick trip to the parts deportment to get a new one. If it has come apart, I suspect you won't fix the old one even if you could find the bits.

Its £20 for an alloy one, including the button?

Thanks a lot guys, looks like a visit to the retro dept. It is frustrating as the bits are in the car somewhere but after an hour with a magnet no sign.
