I have to agree with the comments below .... however, knowing how many V8's are being rebuilt and knowing how many probably need rebuilding I am not so sure ...
I always said I wouldn't have S6 engine, but after waiting 5 months for mine to come back I am more sympathetic.
However, the back of the Tamora is what alwys put me off, but colour coded I like it much more.
They are also relatively cheap as sells have gone to T350's and 2nd hand prices seem very reasonable.

Well the cheapest Tamora is going to be £25k, you'll be hard pushed to find a Chimaera for sale thats that expensive, you can have the pick of the bunch for less than £20k 
I've only had a short drive in a Tamora but it is in another league speed/handleing wise to a Chimaera, at the end of the day they are very different cars, in looks and character, drive both, read all the S6 threads then make a choice

I've read the S6 threads. Doesn't really put me off.
The only one I havn't driven is the Chimera, but as a 6`3" Rugby forward, I liked it's room.
So basically, because it's cheaper, and has a V8?
would echo a lot of whats already been said. The Tamora is a grower on the looks front I would say. Never really liked them to begin with but these days I am quite fond of them, and the exclusivity is a bonus.
Never driven a Tamora, but Flasher had one before the T350 and said it was almost as good as that. The handling and general composure of the T350 was fantastic and I would say the chimaera (or any older style TVR for that matter) wasnt half as good. So if the Tam was "almost" as good its a damn sight better.
However, a late Chim with nitrons would still come in at less than a Tamora. Its got a V8 (thinking soundtrack as well as the potential rebuilds) and classic looks. Its also got a cavenous boot which I note you have been asking about for golf reasons. I can fit 2 sets of clubs and 2 trolleys at a push in the boot of a 2 seat sports car. I reckon you would be hard pressed to find any other sports car with more room in the boot. I took all the camping gear for le mans for 2 people, and further holiday clothes and stuff for 2 weeks.
I had a Chim and drove a Tamora. I'd chose a Tamora every time.
Bought the Chim (and loved it) because I couldn't afford anything else at the time. I love the V8 gurgle and have a V8 Cerb - totally different sound.
I hate the sound of a S6, but strangely it suited the 'roller skate' nature of the Tam.
And it went like shit!

I'd love a Tamora - they're girlie (!) but a little on the expensive side. I'm not overly keen on the T350 and prefer the Tuscan.
As for the Chimaera - what can I say? It's hard to put into words, it's more a feeling you get when you know something is sooo right for you! It's perfect - the classic, refined looks, the most satisfying V8 burble and the sheer enjoyment of open top motoring...

years of them trying to convince people its a bulldog and one sweeping statement its tears before bed

For me it was just price, I would have bought a Tuscan or Tamora if I could have afforded one at the time.
With hindsight, not sure if I could have afforded the upkeep (not the sp6 issues, everything costs more)
So while I agree that the other two are far more capable cars, I am happy with my Chim as possibly the best balance of fun and useability for the money!

Difficult call, I've driven the Tamora and I personally think it is the best TVR I've driven but the Semtex 6 is a worry. They don't sell very well so residuals might be a problem. I love the Chimaera and I don't think it's going to date, it's also a lot cheaper to run and a bit more classy if you ask me.
I had the choice between a new Chim and a new Tamora.
Went for the Chim as I still reckon its got just about the best arse of any car thats ever been made.
Sure the performance isnt quite as good but its a more traditional sports car and thats what I wanted.
(well I wanted a paper, but thats a long story)

So to sum up.
If you can't afford a Tam, think it's a Girls car, worried about resale, want a classic-looking sports car with a lot of poke and prefer the V8, the buy a Chim.
If you can afford the Tam. Buy it.
Am i missing anything?
