I have a 93 pre serp chim. The oil gauge keeps flicking off the scale under hard acceleration when I depress the clutch to change gear. Any ideas.
Also is the oil gauge a pressure gauge or oil temp

It's an ETB sender on the side of the oil pump, quick check of the wire to make sure its not worn bare & shorting may be worthwhile. They cost @£30 direct from ETB instruments, easy to replace - the tiny bolt on ring term for the wiring is probably trickier than removing & bolting in the sender.

If there is a short in the loom wiring causing the problem it will be a real PITA to find, try & make sure where the loom goes behind the engine & around the heater duct is not chaffing on anything (may have to lift the plenum top it's pretty cramped in that area).
