We have been out for a ride to Aberdovey today and when we got back to the car after lunch there were several messages "splattered" over the car from the friendly seagulls!

I washed it as soon as we came home and put polish on it, also tried scratch-x, dodo juice lime prime and you can still see the mark where it was. Any suggestions please.

Thanks

Steve

Have you T-cutted it back and used colour match polish?

If that's not enough they insist on grouping on my neighbours roof at 4am every morning and squaking till they wake me up.

Poorboys do some good polish , removing swirls & imperfections, have you tried it in the past?

It should only have marked the clear coat and I have suceesfully used T cut and then a polish.

You may find the clear coat recovers over time if you let it be, as it seems to soften the clear coat and make it expand. This happened to a neighbours car and the marking was far worse than any polish could manage, but the damage did go on its own over some weeks.

3M fast cut compound polish - that's what you need. Great stuff!

I have this on a daily basis living by the coast,
Only last week I caught two seagulls eating off the boot of my car and the paint had been scratched down the the metal.

But I normally find the best way to get rid of the crap is by keeping a pack of cheap baby wipes in the car (50 pence)

Last time the seagulls damaged my car was when I was away and it had been on the car for just over a day and it damaged the paint but I used a bit of compound and one of those hand polishing pads and it managed to shift about 90% of the damage.

I can also vouch for the poor boys products the glaze which was mentioned earlier is called black hole and then use the the poor boys wax ( natties blue) which I notice does make a difference as now I notice that the seagull crap doesn't stick to the car as bad when I use them and it gives the car better protection against the elements.

There are some other solutions here...

Note - they are rather expensive, but they would probably work.
