Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Been spending a lot of time in the Chimaera over the past week for obvious reasons biggrin

Problem I have been having is that after about 10 minutes it becomes ever so slightly unbearable in terms of cabin temperature reaching 50+ degrees with the roof off.

The problem is that hot air is gushing in through both footwells and just below where the radio is (where the door release pulleys are in mine), makes anything metal un-touchable!

Tried stuffing a T shirt under there to no avail. It only seems to happen when moving though.

I'm not sure if it's rev related yet though!

Any ideas on what could be the problem? If it's the heater I'd rather just have no heater cause it's not a winter car laugh

You can get just ambient air through the heating system. See this link

First thing I thought was that airflow through the front grill was wafting through the engine bay into the car, hence the only hot when moving thing. It is one of the very earliest ones so I expected the Griffith style issues.

I'm hoping it's the heater valve because I don't understand how for 20 years it could have been like that and driven the 90 something on the clock. It gets really uncomfortable.

Found out what this was in the end at Elmwood TVR.

Turns out the eyeball vents and pods are missing, so it's the engine that's warming the air that's warming my cabin.

Must have been forgotten when the chassis overhaul was done!

Having only just seen this, and only today found those vents - that's exactly what I was going to suggest!
