Stuck in 4th gear

Hi all, I had an awesome day at Silverstone on the GP circuit, car ran great, it was blisteringly hot, until the last session at 4PM, down the old pit straight, 5th to 4th for copse up to Maggotts and went to go into 3rd at Becketts and the stick was solid, wouldn't move, I pulled over at Chapel and it came free, then it was ok for w while, it happened one more time but came free again, the on the A43 on the way home, it happened again and it's solid, won't move, drove the rest of the 1.5 hours home in 4th.

So, is it buggered? Could it be linkage? Clutch works fine. I fear a jammed or broken synchro, Any other thoughts?

It could be internal to the gearbox but it's just as likely to be the linkage, the nylon bush sticking. Mine sometimes does that (a little) you can clean/grease them from inside the car once you remove the centre console..
