Won't Start - Buzz - Starter Motor ? Help, please

Could use some advice guys.

Had Audrey, my 95 Chim since April - Almost entirely an absolute pleasure. Last week though came back from hols and not a complete suprise, to find a flat battery - hence she needed a jump start. Mention this as having looked at some old threads thought the jump start could be relavent.

This weekend the batterys seems fine. Key starts the fuel pump, lights etc, but then on turning the key, I get nothing but a kind of buzzing sound. Seems to be coming from the engin bay maybe somewhere in front of my feet.

Any ideas what this could be.
Read on some threads that I need to hit something somewhere with a stick, what where ??
Assuming I can fix it - I'm no mechanic, in a car park, and without much be way of tools - then What.
Could a breakdown guy fix this on a TVR?
Can anyone reccomend a nearby specialist - London N1 Angel?

I've only got tommorrow before I have to leave her for another week, by which time I could probably add flat battery to the equation.

starter motor at a guess but how to cure it i ain`t got a clue.
Its abit late at night to expect a great deal of help though.

Try putting the car in gear and rock the car back and forward,it might free of the starter motor

HAD A SIM PROBLEM LAST WEEK WITH FLAT BAT,COULD BE NOT ENOUGH CHARGE IN BAT TO TURN STARTER,THEY NEED A LOT OF POWER TRY TO CHARGE BAT FULLY THEN TRY AGAIN OR USE A POWER PACK OR GOOD BAT TO JUMP

Sounds to me like not enough juice in the battery. Either more recharge needed, or if you can get jump leads on leave them connected for five minutes with donor car engine running.

Running a battery completely flat can damage it, it may just be that you need a new battery. Unfortunately in your car changing the battery is a bit of a fiddly job, but doesn't need any specialist skills or tools. If you are after a TVR specialist to sort it for you, Tower View (a couple of hundred yards from Staples Corner) are a good bet.

If you can expect to leave your Chimeara for long periods of time, you must use a battery conditioner, the sort that plugs into the cigar lighter.

Do you park under cover? Do you have ready access to 13amp mains outlet? A battery conditioner will make the battery last much much longer and pays for itself easily as a result.

She in now having her battery tested, and possibly replaced. I'm using Tower view. Hopfully it's just the bat and nothing more serious.

I've already got a trickle charger fitted but no power supply.

I'm going to ask for an isolator switch to be fitted, so that when she next has a couple of weeks off I can easily disconnect the battery.

Tower also suggested, I have jump connections fitted under the bonnet for easy access. Apart from saving me crwling into the footwell is there any other benefit. I've struggled before to jump her off another car.

Anyone think these mods are a bad idea ?

If she's in over night do you reccomend grapes or chocolate.
