Any experience with OBD & laptop using?

Hi there,

i know, there is obviously no real OBD availabe on cars before 2001 / 2004 (diesel).
But i believe, that there are some out there, having already investigated, what can be don and what not...
Any hints or deeper knowledge to share within this forum?

I don´t expect to get something for free, as i can imagine, that there was probably a lot of trial & error within development.

What connectors will be needed for a 1996 Chim 400? Any freeware suitable?
