Very interested in this topic as I'll be doing this over the winter and I was thinking Pro Techs so I'll watch this intently.

Thanks.

I went for the Mk4 Bilstiens for mine

Rear D0351

Springs Front & Rear

Nitrons are probably better but more expensive and I know I would be forever adjusting it. Nitrons also need servicing every 2 years i believe. Bilstiens fit are forget and a very good quality shock. My car has it's orignal Bilstiens on for over 13 years with no failures and no leaks, and to be honest although clearly past there best all things considered they still performed admirably.

I didn't bother with Poly bushes but I did go for the Leven drop links front and rear.

An excellent choice for a road car IMO

Classic/Nickel or Pro Peter?

Anyone recommend which distributor to go through for these? there are none close so it would be a mail jobby....

Recently updated my Griff too as follows:

TVR Griffith Bilstein Front Shock Absorber - C0422
TVR Griffith Bilstein Rear Shock Absorber - D0351
TVR Griffith Eibach Rear Spring - D0103
TVR Griffith Eibach Front Spring - C0098
TVR Shock Absorber Bush - C0414
TVR Shock Absorber Bush - C0092

I investigated all the usual suspects, Nitron/Protech/Gaz including a few drives in cars with these fitted and while Nitons might be 'better' (and more expensive) I couldn't tell on the road. I really didn't want to have to take off every couple of years either. Protechs were my second choice but a bit firm for my liking (could have been setup of course), but in the end I bought Bilsteins as (a) they are very good for road use, (b) they are original and (c) fit and forget, no adjustmemts to worry about.

I ended up buying from a very knowledgeable ex-TVR supension expert too at a better price than the main parts suppliers - http://stores.ebay.co.uk/blackdownautomotive

Can`t believe you are fitting Gaz on a 360hp car eek

If you don`t want to go for the Nitrons fit the Protech

TBH if it's just for the road, the pros would be fine IMO but if you don't mind spending, go for the Monos or more so for the Nitrons

Big NO to polly bushes, mine were worn within 2 years. Just not worth it. In the end nothing wrong with standard bushes.

Plus polly ones started squeaking drove me nuts !! Yes the proper lube was used before anyone asks,

Not my experience, I have had them fitted to various cars over the years and never had a problem, some are over 10 years old.... Never squeaked and still look and feel the same the day I fitted them.

That's a fine set up for the road.

About 20% increase in spring weight + dampers are good for road but not man enough for regular tracking + platforms are adjustable.

Peter, when you say 'not man enough for regular tracking' does that mean that they're OK for occasional tracking, e.g. they don't last very long/need greater maintenance because of the additional stresses imposed by regular tracking? Or is it that you need/can get away with a much stiffer set up for tracking because a track surface isn't full of crevices and pot holes and these particular springs and dampers don't have the required adjustability to achieve this? Sorry if it's a silly question but me no fully understandee confused
