I am planning on fitting a small stretchy storage net to the transmission tunnel in the passenger side foot well. It will involve 4 x self-tapping screws.

Is there anything behind the tunnel to be wary of the screws hitting? I will just use very short ones.

You will probably be better off using fibre glass rivets as they will fit flush and wont pull out as easy damaging the tunnel.
I don't think there is anything to damage, but some one will be along soon to confirm this.

Where are yo getting the net from? Cutting down an existing one, or buying one to fit?

ETA:

This looks good if its the right size: http://www.nets4you.com/framed-nets/30cm-x-19-5cm-...

That's the exact one I bought, however, not fitted yet as I want to wait until I get the car on a ramp to check that there are no wires/cables running along the outside of the tunnel wall.

Don't want to drill in to anything important!!
