Ive a 400 Chimaera that has recently had a service at TVR approved centre, one of the niggles resolved was the intermittent operation of the door lock (from the button on the door release knob), which now works fine.

My problem is, when exiting the car and shutting the doors (not locking with keys), the electric locking mechanism decides to activate and lock me out, key opartaion on the outside do nothing. I have to break in and manually open doors.

Yes, I will go back to the service centre and get this sorted, but in the mean time could anyone tell me if this is a common problem, or have they had simelar experience.

Regards.

sounds to me like the solenoid is on the blink. I replaced the passenger side one earlier this year on mine. Do both sides lock or just the one?

i had a similar thing with the door lock thing from the center button and it turned out to be the door not closing properly and turning out the interior light. if the interior light is on the doors shouldnt lock so check they go on and off with the door. its possible your service centre might have rewired the switch and with it wrongly wired the deadlock circuit.
also while i had the light problem even with the interior light in the off position the battery would die in 48 hours
