Yes modification can mean improvement Goat Boy wink

I put a tractor sump plug on mine yesterday yikes

Unlike the original it's completely leak free, requires no copper washer every change, & won't get knocked & dump the contents of the sump on the motorway.

Yeah, thats it.

Works a treat too.

My original always had a little drop of oil hanging off it.

The new one is completely drip free biggrin

I had such a close call with my original sump plug, I could smell oil on my drive home, got onto my drive and had a look underneath , placed a tray under the drips, touched the sump plug and it fell out.
I replaced it with the round type (from Steve Heath IIRC), no problems since.

By the way OP, where did you get the replacement cigar (cigarettes are far too common) lighter socket from?

Looks very much like an XLR socket for balanced microphones. You planning to do karaoke in your car or summit? wink

+1 - Looks *EXACTLY* like a panel mount XLR socket...

... and if it looks like a duck, swims like a duck and quacks like a duck then it's probably a duck. hehe

indeed an XLR socket - needed a but of rubber under it tas the fag socket is slightly bigger but fits nicely and clicks (locks) into place....maplins for the parts (about £5) and 20 mins getting the door card off and back on again...
just bought another plug so I can adapt my extension 12v car socket x3 for the Swiss trip in Sept....

That's 3 mods in 3 weeks !!!
