Picked up my new car today and had a little nose in the footwell. I found this and I think it is some form of circuit breaker (number15 on the white button) I don't have a clue what it could be for though!

Any suggestions please?

Thanks

Graham

It's not original; looks like a conventional relay stuck to a switch unit... I assume there's some wiring between the two on the reverse? Obvious thing is to try pressing it... does the switch latch in two positions or is it a 'momentary' contact type? If it's active, you'll feel/hear the relay energise or release when it's operated (try ign on and off etc).

As it's in the footwell rather than within reach when driving, I'd imagine it's not going to be extra lights or fan override etc, so I'm wondering if it's a switchable variation of the hot start mod... you could trace the switched circuit off the rear of the relay and see where it goes

It doesn't seem like a switch or move when you press it. It seems more a breaker but for what, I don't know!

Looking through the history file (new car collected today) Carl Baker has fitted a hot-start mod of some description and one of his alarms (key fob boot opening is good and it wasn't even raining today!) but not sure if this is anything to do with that.

As for the ejector seat, perhaps this will help me get them all the way back...(see other post)

Well, I didn't get the opportunity to trace this wire today but I did find out that I have a manual fan switch connected to the dash board light switch!

All will be revealed next weekend hopefully...

Thanks for that Stuart! I was driving home last night and tried to switch the dashboard lights off and got suspicious when they stayed on and when I parked up, the cooling fans were on for no apparent reason!!!

Checked the history file today and a manual fan over-ride kit has been fitted.

Clearly a lot more power - It seems to have the same acceleration in 1st or 5th but doesnt actually feel that much faster on the roads around here at least. Very refined as well.

Softer and quieter than my 400. That will soon change though!
