Has anyone changed from GGP to mono's please? I have the GGPs on my old car and have been pleased with them and I have changed my car and don't know whether to go with the mono's or not for the new one?

Yes I did ,I would say the monotubes would be a big step up but for god sake do not go for 400/500lb springs ..I went down that route

I had nodding dog syndrome laugh

Pay a few quid more and go for Nitrons with 20% stiffer springs if you do track days.

If you don`t do track days those Pro techs have good reviews and a lot cheaper than the monos .

You will find it a step up from Golds to Monos and everybody bar one (you know who)has been happy with spring rates and performance.

Mine runs 400/450 on Monos but for spirited road use and occasional track, 325/375 would be an improvement.

I think the Monos would be good with lower spring rates ..for fast road and track .. They were only available in 400/500 when I bought them.

I wish I could remember what I have fitted on the GGP's. I think they were standard on the front and a bit firmer on the back but I have been asleep since then..

Car is all booked in but I have now got to choose what ones to buy. The Nitrons are not a lot more than the monos - £55 more per corner fitted. Decisions!

What spring rate are you fitting?

If it was my money...................................I really don't know.

My Monos have been perfect and after about 3-4 years one has just started leaking, wear and tear.

Hmm, interesting! So, what spring rate do I need on the rear so that when I boot beastie in second gear the front doesn't lift and I lose my steering biggrin

Not sure about spring rates. I have asked Dan Taylor what he normally fits.

What about Protechs?
I'm about to buy some new shocks and I'm so confused what to get. I haven't heard anything bad about Protech though and they are about £600?
Would the Monos or Nitrons be much better? Would someone really notice on mainly road use?

Read posts on here regarding Protech`s ..Supposed to be brilliant for road use but can go soft on the track .
