Clutch master cylinder

Hi, just bought a Chimaera 4.o litre 1996. and I love it1 It`s been standing out in the rain unused for about 6 months and smells like a damp dog! The clutch master cylinder is leaking, Is it a TVR only replacement part or is it a standard part from a mainstream manufacturer? Ok I`m an optimist!

Im sure you could find answers to this on previous threads using the search facility.

In my notes: Lucas Girling repair kit SP2102 is the service part to replace the seals. Bit fiddly but can be done insitu.

i bought a new one from TMS/TVR Gear (website is tvr-gear.co.uk or .com)

cost me about £55

Fitted a master cylinder repair kit, the part No was correct. Clutch now works perfectly, total cost £ 7.85.
Fitted in situ, bit fiddly, easier if you take the drivers seat out first, mine was already out to dry the carpets.

I replaced my master cylinder a few months ago. Totally do-able yourself, just very fiddly.
I couldn't release the pipe and had to get a new one made up. This cost me £30 (pure labour costs I think), but later I found that I could have bought the pipe from one of the online store (TVRGear I think) for under £10.
Satisfying to have done the job though and clutch feels much better.
