You will love it.had my chim 450 a year now ( 1st tvr) and still grin everytime i drive, hear it, look at it!! The lumpy idle could be the stepper, however mine has tornado chip and starting from cold it takes it a minute to settle the idle. It revs to about 1500 rpm, drops to nearly stalling does this a few times, then perfect. I clean the stepper regular so assume it is the chip. Stick some pics up.

Hi and congratulations, you will not regret it,
I have not had any dealings with the tornado chip so cant really advise on the idle issue but you may want to check the plugs, leads dissy cap etc and give the stepper motor a clean then you know that they are ok.
I am led to believe that there are only a couple of places to get the headlight reflectors so I think you may be limited unless you want to go down the Lupo conversion route.
You can refurb the seats yourself if you are confident enough (its not that hard) and the carpets are readily available from numerous places.
Your instrument failure may be just a fuse, if your heater blower doesn't work then it points to a fuse (they are in the n/s footwell)
hope this has helped and one again Congratulations and welcome to the Mad world of TVR ownership
Jamie

The bible is fairly good even if the fuse board descriptions may not be accurate as many boards were used, There is some great info though and worthwhile imho.
You may find an owner has done the Lupo conversion and has no further need of the originals.
Good luck and look forward to seeing the pics.

Hi Tim - welcome to TVR ownership!

I have a complete spare Chimaera interior (not carpets) - all the leather bits on fibreglass inc. 2 seats all in 'surf blue' which is a darkish green. Not advertised it yet....

Regards, Paul.

Original headlights are a nightmare to source, but I see here that they may have them at a reasonable price?

Suggest you start a thread here "new Chimaera owner, Hampshire, needs help to get car sorted"
Hopefully you will get responses from local people who will help.

Seats - Furniture Clinic, threads on PH
Carpets - new set several hundred quid
Instruments - are they not working, or just the panel lights?
Insurance - use Mannings, Classic Line etc. no need for a no claims
