Alloy handbrake fit.
Discussion
I recently went scurraging through a salvage yard and pulled a few shiney alloy bits. I spent today cleaning and gleaming and then went to fit the handbrake handle and I cant get the old black push button off. The old rubber handle just twisted and slipped off, however the button is putting up a fight and I am now thinking this is an imovable object. I had the grips on twisting, turning and yanking in every direction with more than adequate force and it laughed it off.
Am I missing something here or can this really not be simply removed?

A previous owner may have glued it on, they're a screw fit but as they are plastic they sometimes keep falling off as the thread wore. In theory it should just unscrew...
Once the black handle is off, it it still won't come off you could cut it off with a dremmel or similar (if you're carefull)
