Hi Guys
I have just purchased a 1993 4.0 Chimaera. The only fault is the electric mirrors do not work. When you try the joystick style button neither side works.

The car has had an extensive amount of work inc a new loom at some stage.

I checked the owners book and it should be the 6th fuse from the right as you are looking at it. The book has the fuse for the mirrors down as the same fuse for the electric boot release.

I removed the fuse and to be sure I had the correct one I tried the boot release but it still worked; must be the wrong fuse.

I am more than happy to remove every fuse and check but any idea what else could be the problem?

Is the motor behind the drivers door card?

On most cars you can manually move the mirror glass by hand to the correct position but I am unable to do this with the TVR and unfortunately the mirrors are not in the right position for me.

Is there a relay somewhere for the mirrors?

Any tips would be most welcome.

Cheers

There a relay and all the wiring in the drivers door, usually sitting in the shower of water that runs down the window.

Mine worked once.

My motors make a noise, not much happens though. Who cares whats behind you, the flashing blue lights normally reflect off of something else anyway so you always see them in the end biggrin

The motor for the mirrors? No that's behind the glass inside the mirror itself.

Of course.

I will try and find the fuse first. If one mirror worked and one did not I would suspect the motor to be at fault. The fact that neither works, I think it is more likely to be something else.

Hi
Ok, checked all fuses and all is good there.

Removed the speaker on the door card to remove the card which I have now done.

Now......

When I pulled the speaker out a relay fell out as well!

It is a black relay with 5 gold pins. Where does this locate??

Many thanks
