I have a set of Imolas that it will eventually fit to my car.

What is the standard tyre size for the 15/16" wheels for a PS model?

If anyone has a matching set of these tyres, please let me know?

Thanks.

205/55/15 front
225/50/16 rear

I think they went bigger on later cars.

Thanks.

That is narrow!

I'll be lighting up the rears all the time and disappearing backwards in a a hedge!

Can you fit 215/245?

Mine are 15s on the front.

I'd like to see 225/45/15s on the front and 245/40/16s on the rear.

Will that work, is the rolling radius the same or near?

I think 225/245 were fitted to the later cars but I'm not sure about the profiles.
I run 225/45/16 on the fronts which are broadly the same rolling radius as the standard 205/55/15 so would think 215 or 225 shouldn't be a problem on 15 inch fronts.
Take care with the skinny tyres on, I'd hate to see you embedded in some old lady's bush, backwards or otherwise.

You would need 225/50/15 to keep the radius the same as original 205/55's.

From my experience, fitting bigger tyres than originally specified for a wheel has a detrimental effect on the steering/handling. Never tried it on a Chimaera though.

I'm in need of new fronts and I see that the Bridgstone SO3's I currently have on are no longer available. What is the favoured alternative - Good Year, Kumo, Dunlop??

I have 16" all round and run 225/45 and 245/45 if you go 215 you run 215/50 I believe.

He's correct re the fronts, and 245/45 16 for the rear, to keep as near as poss to standard Chimaera diameter.

Strange my 500 o/e fit (and answer to the OP) was F215x50x15 & R235x50x16, latterly the same car was fitted with 225x50x15 & 245x45x16 to which i upgraded ie same rolling radius supposedly, now my speedo is out by 10mph on stock rims moving to this size !

Also preferred original sizes for balance of handling/driveablilty. Move to a wider size/larger wheel & it will upset the dynamics in different degrees so be warned

Shouldn't be 10mph out, if it was correct on the 235s. That's a diameter difference of about 15mm on a wheel and tyre of 640mm, which is about 2.5%. So it should only be 10 mph out at 400 mph

I will sell it.

Option 1, put back to standard, keep the 323 horse engine in it and sell, £how much?

Option 2, sell as is, £how much?

Easy sum : does option 1 +Xt equal more or less than option 2
With x being your hourly rate and t being hours spent returning it to standard......Simples

You could tidy up the 5.5 sell it for a profit then use the profit towards a Torque flow Turbo upgrade cool
