Power run this afternoon - wish me luck
Discussion
Just called The Powerstation in Tewkesbury and they have a spare slot at 14:00 today so I am going to pop up in the Chim.
It's only a 400 so I don't have high expectations but it'll be nice to have a baseline so when I do decide on some mods I'll know what differennce it makes.
TBH I wish I'd done it before the exhaust mods (ACT Y-Piece & Cherry Bombs) because although it "feels" better now I'm not sure that's because it's just louder LOL.
Anyone here happen to know of a reasonable "target" figure for a stock 400?
Something ~180RWHP would make me happy I reckon.. is that realistic?

I had my 400 done there about 18 months ago. Was about 230 at the flywheel. It was completely standard then but I had a Cannems fitted a couply of months ago. I'm positive it will be more now (it pulls so well and is much smoother) but will wait for the Wish List Turbo before doing it again.
Well that was fun LOL
What a very cool place with nice, friendly staff too :-)
Power output isn't too bad:
219.1 BHP peak at 5520 RPM
229.4 lb/ft at 4115 RPM
I'm happy witht he torque figure and relatively flat "curve" but perhaps a tiny bit disappointed with peak power - although TBH not very disappointed LOL.
I wish I had remembered to put decent petrol in it for the run, and I think I probably need to bite the bullet and get those pre-cats out now :-)

Looks pretty good to me. Precats out might give you 5bhp extra. Main cat out may give you 15 bhp extra. Both make it rev more freely.
Simple mod you might try to make it nicer to drive - if you have two throttle return springs, remove one of them. Makes the throttle far less stiff.
A WW2 Hawker Hurricane has just zoomed past my bedroom/office window at about 200 feet.
Where was i?
But now you are on the slippery slope......my car was the same spec as yours in February........as was my wallet....

As Qbee suggests, slippery slope (although I'm not as bad as him...yet!). Mine was on the rolling road the other week - 213bhp, on a notoriously low reading road! A friends megasquirted 4.6 pushing out 275 elsewhere only achieved 245 and a 5.0 Griff 222bhp which was improved to 254 as the coil was wired the wrong way around and a HT lead faulty.
Since then I've fitted an ACT induction kit, plenum elbow and HT leads

Really, get it done!
Mark Adams was at the rolling road day I went to. We did it through the TVRCC and Mark lives locally. Looking at the power and torque curves that was his recommendation to make improvements! I'll find out next year at the rolling road day!

Anywhere oop north recommended for rolling roads. Yorkshire area??. Interested what my 450 puts out, feels quick. Has induction kit with tornado chip and act trumpets . Tuscan seats lighter than standard ones?
OP good figures for a 400 and as others say looks cracking with black interior
