Hi guys,
recently purchased myself a 500 chim (after wanting one for donkeys years)
98 Model in cherry pearl, 41k miles and its lovely !!
It does seem to have a bit of a tap going on and seems down on power (no mid range) best sprint to 60 so far being 5.8 (listed at 4.1 I believe!!!)
it doesn't smoke or use any oil or water.
Have purchased a stealth cam kit from V8D which im in the process of fitting now..
Is there a information portal anywhere?? could do with some basic information such as tightening torques / sequence (mainly for the inlet manifold)
Crank pulley doesn't want to budge either..
Is there a workshop manual available??
By the way, l live between chatham and Maidstone (kent)
anybody else local??

cheers

Rob

You're welcome to, but mine is only a 400, so not great for a comparison (it is a 'good' 400 though smile )

Your more than welcome to pop over mate..its zlow progress at the mo but hoping to have the old cam out weekend..so far it a looks very clean and tidy under the rocker covers..im hoping that this cam peps it up a bit.
Do the 6 plenum bolts have to be removed to get the inlet manifold off?

My 5 litre V8D engine has a stealth cam fitted - very torquey and fun to drive, road or track. No shunting or other vices, unless you count thirst as a vice!

I'll see if I can get over Saturday daytime if you're starting early. PM me your address. The plenum bolts secure the plenum cover to the trumpet base, the trumpet base is secure to the inlet manifold and then the manifold itself to the engine. So theoretically, no it doesn't; but removing the plenum makes access, removal and life a lot easier, plus is an ideal opportunity to see what is in there!

Hi, Pics would be great, And Chris has dome a fair bit to his, so he has hands on knowledge
He might even talk you into cutting down your trumpets and porting the inlet. (even if he did change his name without telling anyone smile.)
