Has anyone got an off cut of magnolia interior vinyl? I need to redo the triangular section (coin tray thingy) at the back of the transmission tunnel.

Anybody got either a spare coin tray, or magnolia piece big enought to cover a new piece?

Many thanks,

Rich

See furniture clinic products as they can re-colour vinyl and you will find the colour is a jaguar colour. a small kit is not overly expensive and will last as long as the original if done with care.

If I can find it then you're more than welcome to mine. I have the entire tray covering in that colour that I don't need anymore as I recovered it in alcantara. Its still in the original shape with the finger pull as well.

Can't guarantee I still have it but will look now.

Its not dye I need, its the material.

The long story is as follows:

2year old in car, loves it. Also somewhat fascinated by the door opening ball, which he can reach, culminating in him opening door whilst going round roundabout - I do not jest.

So I have moved my door knob to the back pocket, out of his reach (he's 4 soon but temptation still a bit of a thing...). In doing so I removed the original coin tray thing and have not replaced it.

I now have a good cupholder in the front (where the door knob was), and a door knob at the back but a rough-looking but of fibreglass underneath it. I have decided, since number 2 is now still only 2, that the ball will stay there for a while.

I therefore need to make my 'temporary fix' look a little better by manufacturing a cover for the fibreglass. Since I intend re-locating the ball at some stage, I do not want to destroy the original.

Hence the need for an off-cut of fabric, if that makes sense?

Rich

Yes I know what you mean but I think the majority of chims "magnolia" is jaguar magnolia on the furniture clinic chart.
I would just buy or scrounge an off cut or remnant from a local upholsterer or trim place and re-colour it, or have just checked the bay and found this and would be easy to colour if it does not match.

and you could make a new handbrake and gearstick gaiters with the leftovers,
Hang on a minute I may even do this myself, thanks for the prompt. smile
