I was going to get myself a trickle charger and I just wondered if there is a particular one that people go for? Also, will it top a battery up that's lost some charge? I took my Daughter out in the car the other night and when she got out when we got back, she didn't shut the door properly, so the interior light stayed on. The locking and radio still work and I can hear the fuel pump prime, but it won't even turn over. I had to rough it in the Audi this evening when the sun was still out. frown

I use a CTek and am thoroughly impressed with it.

Others are cheaper but I know e CTek works very well.

Good luck.

Classic car magazine often gives away the Ctek with an annual subscription.

Victron synergie very smart charger has the ability to give a moderate boost if battery low and has a very sophisticated charging regime keeps batteries in top order.

In the mean time. If you have a regular battery charger, put it on overnight to get yourself going for the weekend. idea

Ctek for me, just get the right one as they do a huge range and the old one I had turned out to be far too small.

Also good tech support if needed (from Sweden!).

Poor thing, it hasnt been on a trickle since you got it?! He's been on one every day for the last year, surprised he isnt sulking hehe

Joking aside, make sure it is a battery conditioner, not just a charger.

Just drive it!!!
Mine has only had a flat battery when it was in the TVR place for several weeks getting the engine upgraded. Never been on a trickly charger - I drive it at least three times a week, 52 weeks of the year. It's a plan.....

I've done more miles in it than my A8, so I can't be accused of not using it. It gives my garage floor a break from having oil dripped on it, but that's a subject for another thread I guess! smile

Noticed it the day after I got it. No idea where it's coming from, other than I've got two points, one near the rear of the car and one near the front.

The rear one will be what's left of the Litre bottle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil your wife knocked over when putting it in the boot at Waitrose. Her way of preferring the A8 for shopping trips......or the diff calling for first aid.
The front one - anyone spotted a dipstick in your house garage?

My wife still hasn't sat in it and probably never will and no, I haven't forgotten to put the dipstick back! tongue out
Are we saying that if I continue to drive it, my diff will explode! I've already bought one diff in the last couple of years, I could do without another! rolleyes
This thread is now severely off topic! laugh
