Can someone give me a link to bypass the immobiliser ? sick and tired of this hot start problem ..another weird thing is when I activate the alarm I get bleep from the siren in the engine bay and then three bleeps out the stereo speakers ,is that normal.

If your alarm is the standard Meta, four beeps means the bonnet or boot sensor is not making contact ,so the alarm thinks one or the other is not shut. In my case it was the bonnet sensor that needed adjusting.

As for one through the siren and three through the speakers, have you let a plumber near your wiring? yikes

Had the full Meta alarm upgrade from Carl Baker & it completely sorted my 'hot start' problem. Not only do you get a new Meta Alarm system but the hot start re wire & remote boot release. Best money I ever spent. yes

Standard meta immobiliser? If anyone has a wiring diagram for it can they pm it to me too please as I can't find anything on it.

The way that I am going to end up doing it is to multimeter the wires from the relays etc up to the box, but I would rather have something to work from.

I've never had this 'hot start issue' But the Meta was binned years ago in favour of a Clifford
(before I owned it), although my central locking has never worked............

hould have changed the lot for a new Cat 1 Daz confused installed many Cobra's over the years on my own stuff with no issues I currently have a Cobra modualar CAT 1 fitted around 7 years ago by me never so much as changed a remote battery in fact the spare plip & touch key is still in a bag biggrin my original Foxguard kept faffing about and false alarming + the immobilizer had been bypassed before my purchase .... great rolleyes
Does the key have the magnet thing in to activate the immobiliser or does it work from the alarm fob .I can`t use the alarm it`s very sensitive .

Is the "Globe 3100" any good ?

I can use both Daz wink your looks like a poor install rather than an inferior quality unit IMO scratchchin for a start that siren would not have been placed there rolleyes

Perhaps the oak tree like branches of air filters prevented the installer from fitting it in the N/F corner.. laugh

Ok just had a play with it ,the bleep comes out the speakers when I remove the key from the ignition, When the alarm fob is removed from the key ring it still starts up so does this mean the immobiliser has already been disconnected.

When I activate the alarm it does not start ,does this mean the alarm is a combined alarm and immobiliser .

Just need to get rid of the hot start problem,it let me down again on the way back from Cadwell Park.

The key does not have a battery in it so it must not activate the immobiliser.

If you do the mod under the bonnet, it does not matter what set up you have, I can send details if you mail me.

Hi Daz,

What make of stereo do you have? My son has a Sony in his van and that bleeps 3 times when he shuts off the ignition - nothing to do with the alarm.I think it is to remind you to remove the front panel?
Just slightly off thread I spoke to you at Chimfest ( Yellow Chim) and you showed me the stainless panel over your radiator. could you PM me the company name and address.

Cheers

Bill
