Went go go out in the Chim today. Started her up. Oil light went out in a couple of seconds and the oil pressure gauge shot up to 60lbs. Then as I started driving up the road, the gauge began to drop and then climb and then drop again. Turned her off and restarted. Gauge climbed to around 60lbs again, the flickered up and down towards zero before continuing to flicker and climb again. Oil pressure light stayed off. I returned home immediately. Oil 3/4 full (checked before I left).

I'm figuring faulty sender. I've had enough of these senders though. Original when I bought her was cream-crackered. Bought one of the classifieds that worked great and then stopped working (not seen any advertised since). Bought one of the Ebay senders (currently fitted) and now that has packed in. Don't fancy paying £40 for a sender from one of the main TVR distributors, so I'm thinking about doing the sender and gauge at the same time and finishing the job once and for all. I'll do the temp sender at the same time.

I measured the diameter of my white dials at roughly 55mm. I haven't got the dash off at the moment, but was wondering if one of the 52mm dials available online would be wide enough to cover the aperture in the dash or if it could be made to fit. If so, I'll go ahead and purchase a matched sender and gauge (may even go digital).

Again, apologies for bringing up the gauge thing again, but most posts seem to relate to the larger diameter black gauges and not the later white ones... don't tell me off Simon!
