New split roof fitted to the Chimaera
Discussion
Just returned from the Back Home event (really good weekend) and whilst up there collected my car from D & C Trim/Surface Design who have fitted a split roof. The guys have done a great job and the split roof works brilliantly. The weather home was awful but no leaks and very little wind noise. Highly recommend the split roof, so much easier than the full panel especially when touring.
I spoke with Chris-Dave while viewing yours in the workshop using your car as a sample and have to say it looked a very good job.
It looked as new as the day it rolled out of those doors 16yrs ago
Unfortunately they could not help me much as I am looking just for a repair job and they wanted to sell me the whole package of roof,window and seals and need the car for one week.
I believe They worked at the factory for 14 odd years so i guess you have gone to the best guys.

Morning Guys!
I'm so glad to read that the new Splitty stood up to the weather on Sunday. It was bl8dy awful up here.
Clive's roof is the first and should be considered a pre-production prototype (we thought it only right to keep the TVR tradition of using customers as guinea pigs alive and well.
)
In all seriousness, having Clive need the roof for Back-Home was a stretch but just the push we needed to get the roof from concept master seen at the Growl to a fully trimmed part on a customers car. There are couple of tweaks to ease production and improve fit but we should now be able to start to provide roofs for those who have been patiently waiting on V8GRF's list.
Once those are honoured I will be happy to take further orders.
The discussion was even had with other visitors whether we might be able to do the same with other roofs that are known to be a PITA to fit into their respective boots... watch the this space.
