I knew life with a TVR would be full of niggles, so I saved a few up then booked the Chim into Scole Engineering for a bit of 'snagging'. smile
1. Strange little squeak which is probably suspension.
2. An oil leak from the diff.
3. Passenger electric window not working.
4. Driver's seat not sitting straight in the car.
5. Small piece of trim on the passenger door falling off.
6. Anything else they can find.

A hundred quid will hopefully cover it! hehe

Two or three hours of your time and a few basic tools would probably sort half of it scratchchin

I'd rather spend those two or three hours working to earn the money to pay someone that actually knows what they are doing though! smile

Reckon that's about 3 hours work. Surprising where the time goes!

hehe A bit of that too!
I think keeping well on top of these cars and using them whenever it's dry is the key. I can already see how you could just be driving around in a car full of irritating little ankle biting niggles if you don't. driving

3. Passenger electric window not working.

Lose connection; did that once, pull the window switch out (can do without tools) and make sure the contacts are firmly on.

Thanks Ed, I thought the switch looked as though it had been out before. I'll give it a look. They are going to give the both of the electric windows a bit of a going over, as they say there are things they can do to speed them up.

Well the garage feels a bit empty tonight as I dropped the Chim off at Scole today. There were at least half a dozen other Tivs there, including a nice Sagaris. cool
I added a potential engine oil leak, motorway speed steering wheel wobble, a loose speaker and an intermittent hot start issue to the list and left it with them. Now I wait for 'The Call'! phone

Best of luck with that. 'My call' was an additional £3.5k over the budgeted £1k for a service and check over.....

Still, it runs sweet now.

What are the symptoms of the hot start problem - I can honestly say I never had an issue in all the time I had it, and it also has the new alarm/immobiliser and wiring by Carl B...

You fill up with petrol, go in and pay, get back into your car with the usual quota of people staring at you. You turn the key and the only thing that runs is the fan, so you have to ask the onlookers for a push because you're blocking the forecourt. It's all a bit embarrassing really. Turn the key ten minutes later and away you go. driving

So did you de-imobilise it? I.E, it re-immobilises its self once key is removed - so you need to lock and unlock it assuming you didnt lock it when you went to pay?

(apologies if you did this, just checking the obvious first).

Yes. The LED blinks when immobilised. I'm sure Scole will sort it, they know the cars backwards. They were more concerned about the look of the driver's seat and were wondering if the frame was twisted. They asked if they had been sourced from a damaged car, any ideas?

The seats are spot on. They were re-trimmed by Aston Martin trimmers. As I explained, the holes are for the old seats, just needs the holes re-doing, there is even enough adjustment as I explained if you loosen them off, they just moved sightly.

Hopefully an easy fix then. I haven't tried tinkering with it myself as I just don't possess the time or the skills! smile
